What a great shot. I love the look and feel and smell of a newly sharpened pencil. Just impossible to resist ....

Thanks everyone. I love pencils! I evaluate student work with them, I tutor with them, I use them with my own stuff . . . there is just something undefinably wonderful about them.

About the chew marks, Zerodoll, . . . I pulled those out of the shot.

Jayfish, I use about a dozen a day in different places (work, home, classroom, etc.) (of course I don't use them to a nub each day, but still . . . )

Love this close up. Reminds me of the line in "You've Got Mail" - "bouquet of newly sharpened pencils."
