LOL . . it was a Roland Barthes thing . . . "why this sheet?" from Camera Lucida. Have you read this *amazing* book? I took up folders from students the other day, and wanted to take a photo of them . . you know, to commemorate the day of grading student writing? Anyway, this one popped out at me.

No, haven't read that one. I read a few of his books in grad school. And a guy once gave me a copy of A Lover's Discourse as part of a very elaborate seduction attempt, which is pretty much what I think of when I think of Barthes now. Funny, memory.

Funny! LD is one of my favorite Barthes' books. I should pull that out . . . lots of wonderful nuggets embedded within.
